Rubber Shoes & Lightning

Last night we had some pretty bad thunder storms here in the heart of TN. Because of a book that circled Logan's 2nd grade class last year:

He knows that Lightning is amongst the 100 things.

When bedtime rolled around he was visibly shaken by the thought of lightning striking him while he slept. Great, thanks kid that brought that durn book to school! I assured him that he would be safe and he was sleeping far enough from the window that he wouldn't have to worry about it. A few minutes later I hear him flip flop down the hallway. "What?!," I think, "is he wearing shoes to bed?"

Logan: "But mom, I know lightning can come in the house. We have outlets on the outside."

I shuffle him back to bed and assure him once again that he will be safe & sound.

Me: "Buddy? Why do you have your flipp floppy's on?"

Logan: "RUBBER SOLES MOM!" I have to have on rubber soles during a lightning storm and the lightning won't get me!"

Me: "OK. If wearing flippy floppys to bed makes you feel better then wear away."

And He Did.

I love that in this stage of life they are so strong willed! Could be bad for the momma, but it sure is cute to read about!
